While Heart Gold is the better game (and is imo the best Pokemon game available) it does not hold the same nostalgia as Gold.

It gets close, but it can not match the level of the real thing.

Though it is nice to enjoy some nostalgia, but I dislike when people can't take off nostalgia glasses.

I thought spouting something that is common sense is what Captain Obvious does.

You have to remember common sense isn't very common.

You should go on a Pokemon forum and say how Pokemon RBY is unplayable compared to the newer games and mention things like outdated mechanics and unbalanced Pokemon elements etc... and lol at results.

If that isn't common sense.... I don't want to live on this planet anymore ;_;

Though I think the internet really magnifies the bad side of people. Especially when getting recommendations of games/music from people.

I remember Billy Corgan mentioned that in a video saying that it's different seeing someone in person telling you "hey check this out" because if you go online, for every person telling you how awesome it is, you'll find just as many people telling you how it's the worst thing ever.

Yeah, the people that don't like something are always the loudest.
They like to make it known when they think something is shit, while people who like it tend to just be content and happy being quiet and enjoying whatever it is.

It's more like the internet magnifies it. If you look at something like Big Bang Theory, if you only judged the show from UG, you'd think it was the fucking apocalypse, but then you hear people talk about it in real life, they seem happy.

Then there's some forums where they just shit on everything remotely popular.

I feel like that is not only because of the anonymity thing, but you can also speak to a larger audience more easily online than irl.

It probably depends on the user/site. Though I've learned not to listen to UG's opinions on bands or I'd be listening to a helluva lot more metal. Warpaint and This Will Destroy You are the only bands I found through UG.
