Tonight was the Kouhaku music event they have in Japan every New Years. Basically a lot of famous singers/bands in Japan perform. Nana Mizuki and Kyari Pamyu Pamyu performed. There was some guy named Gori Pamyu Pamyu too.

What's wrong with Commie?

They're a last resort.

I've never had problems with them before.

I followed them through the rest of Kokoro Connect

One of their traits is that they're incredibly liberal and localize everything.
It's really the equivalent of certain english dubs messing up jokes in translation.
They're also one of the groups that refuses to use honorifics for whatever dumb reason.

I downloaded Nekomonogatari from em, but if someone else does it by the time I finally get around to watching it, i'll switch.

I still watch Commie for the few things I don't see other people doing, like the Sword Art Offline specials and the Acchi Kocchi OVA.

Maybe the jokes themselves are lost in translation? There's a lot of puns that don't translate into English, or Chinese proverbs we don't get

I don't really find it that big of a problem if they're missing, you're not losing out of the sentence that way.

I don't care if there aren't honorifics.
I only care if a group refuses to use them because they think they're stupid, or have some other negative emotion towards them.

Some honorifics are thrown around too easily in the language. It's a little different in English to call someone Mr. Bob, if you hear Mr. Bob, you're assuming he's either in a position of seniority or he's in a position like a teacher.

In Japanese, -san is attached to anyone and their dog. Hell people can address their spouses as -san when just talking to them.

Also oniichan isn't an honorific.

Is oniichan not an honorific when it used in like a "Takashi-oniichan" way?
I thought it was.

I wasn't trying to debate the use of honorifics in the japanese language though lol.
I was just saying I prefer the subs to match what is spoken.
If I hear "Ninomiya-kun" that's what i'd like to see in the subs.
I don't really care if it just says "Ninomiya", but I like honorifics, so slightly prefer to see "Ninomiya-kun"

It's really more of a nickname schpeal. Like you hang out with your friend and you're around his grandma a lot and you also call her Grammy or whatever grandma nicknames people have.
