I want to too. Either that or viola. I personally think violas sound cooler, though it depends on if I have the money to buy a good one. Problem with a violin/viola is that it's something you need a teacher for. From what I hear it's a difficult instrument to learn on your own.

An instrument that sounds great like a violin would be a shame if played badly.

the sound a beginner in the field makes is completely and utterly awful and nasty, dunno if you've ever heard it before? Personally I think there's a difference in playing between a noob and someone who just sucks, or doesn't know how to play it.

I wouldn't actively listen to them. The only way I'd do it is when I'm taking violin lessons.

yeah, but sometimes you can't get out of it, like onetime, I was sitting there in a metro wagon, and someone started playing the violin all of a sudden, and boy it made me cringe, the sound it made i mean.Grungie wrote:I wouldn't actively listen to them.
