Any out there on this forum? I've never played it but its a lovely instrument to learn. What about you, have you ever dabbled in the violin?

yep, need a mentor or a teacher to teach you, because if not, you're gonna mess it up big time.Grungie wrote:I want to too. Either that or viola. I personally think violas sound cooler, though it depends on if I have the money to buy a good one. Problem with a violin/viola is that it's something you need a teacher for. From what I hear it's a difficult instrument to learn on your own.
the sound a beginner in the field makes is completely and utterly awful and nasty, dunno if you've ever heard it before? But yeah, once someone intentionally played it wrongly, and it screeched in my ears and the sound was weird.Grungiean wrote:An instrument that sounds great like a violin would be a shame if played badly.

theres that too, i'd give you that, but still, you should hear some of them beginners play, its awful to the ears.Grungie wrote:Personally I think there's a difference in playing between a noob and someone who just sucks, or doesn't know how to play it.
yeah, but sometimes you can't get out of it, like onetime, I was sitting there in a metro wagon, and someone started playing the violin all of a sudden, and boy it made me cringe, the sound it made i mean.Grungie wrote:I wouldn't actively listen to them. The only way I'd do it is when I'm taking violin lessons.
thats one way or another to put it. XD But yeah, they aren't pulled by ponies, thats a figurative way of saying things.Grungie wrote:Wouldn't it be pony power?
ooooooooooh
