Left hand pinky too spastic

So I was told by my teacher that my pinky is too spastic and that I keep tucking it under the fretboard. Anybody experience the same problem? Any advice or exercises that might help would be really appreciated.

What do you need help with on your pinky? Is it a fingering problem?

I tend bend it so that the tip of my finger touches the base and then I struggle to get it straight again to play on the fretboard. So I only have 3 fingers on the fretboard. It's not that big of a deal now because I don't play very fast but my teacher said that it will hamper me later on and prevent me from playing fast.

I've broken my wrist so often that my pinky isn't even straight anymore, I just don't use it. I might need it later on when I start using 5 or 6 string, but I can play better without it then with it

I fucked my picky up while playing basket ball one day, it's loose in it's socket, the doc say it healed that way, no way to change it. I just did random exercises to help it, but it's hurts when i use it. My suggestion: random exercises

Pretty much this, I'm not an active bass player, but scales or learn riffs where you either have to stretch to use a pinky. Or fingering formations that would be easier to use a pinky.

a riff like this, I personally think the note on the 8th fret (note F) on the A string would be easier to finger by using your pinky. You pluck the note A (7th fret D string) with your ring finger, then fret the F note with your pinky.

Though this riff is slightly easier on guitar since the frets are smaller/closer. It's a bigger stretch for bass.

I was just throwing that minor detail out. Though you are a bass player, not a guitar player so I'm hoping you're used to that sort of stuff.

They are a pain to play,you gotta have small fingers for it really.

But Sum41 is hobbit sized so he should be fine with playing the ukulele

there's an easy excersize to help with that.

Flatten your hand on a desk, then keep slamming your pinky into the desk, emphisizing the majority of the pressure on the finger's tip. (remember to keep it straight though.) you're going to feel your Extensors (muscles that controls extension in the fingers) in the bottom of your forearm working. This should help with the strength and coordination of that finger.
