Busy schedule eh?

Classes start Monday as well.
I only have one, buuuut...

japanese books for school arrived today as well.
the only one that didn't was the optional grammar one cuz it's backordered.

i also ordered an optional vocabulary one and it's really neat.
it folds out like a poster and shows the hiragana and stuff, english, and pronunciation for a bunch of words.

Have fun when kanji starts.

What is Kanji exactly anyway?
Is it just stuff borrowed from chinese?

Cuz I was skimming through the workbook and in the Kanji practice section I recognized a bunch from when I took Mandarin.

Yeah, you're kind of wrong, it's really kind of a gagglefuck. Though katakana is used to write words of foreign origin, but there's lots of Japanese words you write in katakana. You can have names that have kanji, but you can write it out in Katakana. Like you can write Haruhi in hiragana, katanana, and there's various kanji variations with it.

Yeah, sometimes it's like what we have with a girl named like Chelsey or Meghan where there's more than one way to write it and they want you to write it correctly, or some people do it show off their "uppity" names

You might have to install a language pack, I forgot you have XP and I cba to remember how do it anymore.

I already have all the East Asian languages from that language pack.
I installed it in like 2011 because no characters would show up and I didn't want my music library to be filled with boxes.

You should try clicking the balloon thingy, it's probably on alphanumeric which is the default.

aha. got it.
i had the bar at a smaller size, so some of the icons were hidden and i couldn't switch to hiragana/katakana/etc from direct input, which is just english
