So whats punk exactly? A bit out of the loop here and lost. And don't like it anyway, I think I listened to it once.

Well there's tons of different genres of punk. Punk is usually short, simple and can be fast fast paced. The music is supposed to be snotty and the vocals tend to match it. There's also a type of ethic to it. The ethic is usually a "anyone can do it" type of ethic, hense why their music is usually simple and to the point. The lyrics tend to be kind of a deviant topic or have something to do with adolescence. Though the different subgenres don't always fit those categories. You'd be surprised with what punk bands you might like.

Here's a few examples:

Green Day

Blink 182

The Replacements

Husker Du

The Clash

The Ramones

these guys are different punk genres, but you can kind of here a similar sound. Green Day, Blink 182, and the Ramones are Pop-Punk, The Replacements and Husker Du were Hardcore Punk, and the Clash is punk.

Yeah, keeping arguments isn't really good, especially a squabble like that.
